Our Enrolment Process.
We are so pleased that you are considering joining us at Labrador Kindergarten. The information shared here is designed to help you determine when your child is able to attend our Centre and the next steps you can take to start the enrolment process should you wish to join us.
At Labrador Kindergarten we provide educational care for children in the year before Prep (i.e. children who are four by 30 June in the year they start). You can find out here when your child is due to begin their Kindergarten year with this Kindy Calculator
As our Centre prioritises intentional and catered educational care we purposefully only cater to 44 children per year, with a maximum of 22 children per group. Due to our considered capacity this means that enrolments are offered in accordance on a first serve, first basis off of our waitlist.
The Kindergarten has two groups of 22 children, each attending a five day fortnight between 8:30am and 2:45pm, during Qld State School Terms.
Chungara Group attends Monday, Tuesday and alternating Wednesdays
Gowanda Group attends Thursday, Friday and alternating Wednesdays
The Kindergarten operates under the Queensland State School Term Calendar for holidays and is closed for all public holidays. There is one pupil free day each Terms 2 and 3, and two in Term 4. These may vary from the Queensland State School student free scheduled days however this will be commented to families via the Labrador Kindergarten Calendar which provides additional information on important dates and events.
Fees 2024
Kindy Term Fees will be free for eligible-aged children who attend a government-approved program offering “Free Kindy” from 1 January 2024, as introduced by the Queenland Goverment. Labrador Kindergarten has been approved as a “Free Kindy” provider.
Inclusions: Sunscreen, consumables, all children’s shows and activities
Enrolment Fee: $60 Enrolment Fee and $11 Membership Fee applies.
Voluntary Building Fund Levy: Tax deductible $50 per term
*Commitment to enrol in 5 day fortnight for 40 weeks per year (two weeks Notice required to withdraw an enrolled child).
